Hospital Preparations

I'm just teetering on the edge of 31 weeks and am starting to think about delivery day and hospital preparations.  Hopefully the babies stay satisfied as womb-mates for another 6ish weeks.

Many people have advised stealing from the hospital.  I don't mind advice that involves stealing.
I have an itemized list of things to steal from the hospital:

swaddling blankets
newborn diapers
various lotions

Looking over this list, I've decided if I'm going to steal from the hospital, I'm going to make it worth my while.
Here's my updated list:

2 nurses (one for each baby)
The McDonald's french fry maker (yes, there's a McDonald's at my hospital)
Dining room trays
3,000 containers of red jello
a hospital bed with remote control

I've already arranged for the UHaul.

So now I just have to pack my bags so I'm ready when the time comes.  I've started a packing list which I promise I'll post soon.  I'm sure there are many expectant mothers out there that aren't sure what to pack.  Don't you fret your huge bellies about it.  I'm here to make sure you have all the essentials.

Also, did you know pizza places deliver to hospitals?
I've seriously got this sh*t covered.

  1. Also, vaseline and gauze for the boy's circ (they won't know it isn't being done til later), the little white shirts they put them in, and snot suckers, bottle nipples, and formula!!!

Every time a new nurse shift starts, send josh to the nursery to get more stuff. Just don't let it pile up in the room. Take it out in shifts throughout your stay. NOT that we did any of this.

  2. Don't forget to take stuff for you too! We came home with a water pitcher, tons of topical pain relief, sitz bath, mesh undies, pads, pads, and more pads. :)

  3. Jaime and Jen-thank you so much! Apparently I need to bring an extra bag with me for this hospital heist. I never thought of taking a water pitcher but I can probably easily roll all of this stuff out in the incubator. Perfect plan!

  4. I plan to visit daily during your stay, so I'll bring a HUGE purse with me each time so I can help. :)

  5. someone mentioned it above. you have to, HAVE to take the mesh underwear. they're awful to look at or even think about right now, but will be your best friend post partum (especially if you have a c section) =) take as many as you can!
